Carers Respite Retreat May 2024

A 6-day retreat for the partners /Carers of incapacitated veterans or widows of veterans  ( Widows must be nominated through a Legacy Club.)   Participants can check in from 2 p.m. on Monday, May 27th. 

Do you need a break, a getaway and some fresh sea air?  Come and join our retreat for some much-deserved time out.   We will have various activities,  games, information sharing, and lots of respite throughout the week.  This one includes Dragon Boat Racing, Visit to Veterans Organic Farm, Information from various organisations including  DVA,  self-esteem boosting activities, crafts and more, 

This retreat has allowed afternoons for sewing, quilting and crafting for those who love to create; bring your machine and projects. 

During the retreat, you will have plenty of time for relaxation, hopefully enough to reset and recharge you to tackle everyday life—lots of fun and an opportunity to meet with other like-minded women.  Build your support network.

All suites have a kitchen, so most of this retreat is self-catered.  ( Woolworths or Coles delivery can be arranged if necessary.)  We may get together for joint meals that we prepare as a group.    The program will be added and adjusted as we iron out the details.  Please note at this stage, we cannot confirm any agenda.      THIS RETREAT IS LIMITED TO 25 PARTICIPANTS.   You may need to share a room, so book in early if you don't want to share.  For further information, contact Donna on 0430166070.    NOTE: You must find someone to share with if you do not want a single room.  Cancellations within 14 days of the retreat will be required to pay the total cost of the invoice.  The booking can be transferred to another eligible person.  Finding that person is your responsibility. We are hoping to secure additional funding to reduce the cost of this retreat further. At this stage, a shared room will be approximately $250, and a single will be $400. These are heavily subsidised prices and will not apply if your retreat is being covered by another organisation. Please contact Donna to get an invoice issued to a third party. Negotiations with that group may need to happen. 

The events and program for this retreat are a draft only and WILL change.  If you are in a single room, your partner/family may join you from 1 p.m. Saturday.  Those wishing to check in over the weekend prior can do so by calling and organising and paying   the complex directly.
